Dear CRONA Nurses,

We are happy to inform you that after more than a year of challenging the hospital, our educational hours (when taken) are now accruing PTO and ATO hours.

In 2007, we negotiated language that said PTO and ATO would accrue on education hours taken by CRONA nurses. The hospital refused to comply with the contract and CRONA filed a grievance on behalf of the nurses. We prevailed and as a result, PTO and ATO hours have been credited to our accounts for all education hours taken, and, going forward, future education hours taken will accrue PTO and ATO.

We want to assure our members that we continue to do everything we can to ensure the provisions in our contracts are followed. If you think that you know of a possible violation of our contracts, or of the hospitals’ own personnel policies, please email crona@crona.org so that we can address the issue.
