SHC Draft Contract 2011-2013
Dear CRONA Nurses,
Due to the many sweeping changes in our contracts as a result of the past negotiations, we are posting the hospital’s drafts of the SHC and LPCH contracts. The drafts are in Read format only.
We realize that you want a final copy of the contract. However, it is vital that we continue to diligently review the hospital’s drafts to ensure that the changes do not result in unintended outcomes.
For example in LPCH Section 1.1, the hospital changed the phrase “clinic nurses” to “Clinical Nurses.” The meaning of the 2 phrases are significantly different. Were we to accept this change in the language, the hospital could claim nurses in the clinics are no longer represented by CRONA and covered by the collective bargaining agreement.
Another example is SHC Section 6.4.1, where the hospital changed the language that nurses who are re-hired into the same or similar unit within 12 months of resignation will be placed as a Clinical Nurse I or II level. CRONA never agreed that nurses can be placed as a Clinical Nurse I.
